Where might my ex be hiding assets?

Going through a divorce can make people do and say things they later regret. Hiding assets is one such mistake that could have serious consequences. The person hiding the assets could face penalties like having to pay their ex's legal fees and even jail time in some cases. Alternatively, the person from whom the assets were hidden could walk away from the divorce with less than they deserve.

Still want to 'take walks' with your ex after divorce?

The goal of every divorce is not the same. Sure, the common thread is that couples want to end their marriages, but not all couples want to end their relationships. There are those who split up and would prefer to never talk again. There are those who are somewhere else on the relationship spectrum who worry about protecting their bond with an ex.

When did 'mine' become 'ours'?

When the time comes to divide your assets in a divorce, doing so can be far more complicated than you expect. You -- or a judge -- will have to make a decision on how to separate property equitably, but before that can even be done, you will need to figure out which property is separate and which property is marital.
